Cancellations

If you need to cancel your reservation, please use the same channel through which it was confirmed. If you booked through our website or our Reservation Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, you can cancel it through the same channels. However, if your reservation was confirmed through a third-party site, such as a broker or an online travel agency, please use the same channel to request your cancellation. It’s important to note that some third-party sites have cancellation fees if the reservation is not canceled within a certain period of time prior to your rental. Mex Rent A Car is not responsible for these cancellation charges.

Additional Driver

If you plan to have an additional driver, it’s possible at Mex Rent A Car. There is a cost of $5.00 USD per day plus taxes for adding an additional driver. The additional driver must meet the same requirements as the main driver.

Deposit

Before renting a car, a deposit is required. The amount of the deposit will be $450.00 USD. We accept credit cards for deposits, including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. To use a credit card for the deposit, it must have been used for more than one year and be personalized with your name and signature.

One Way Rentals

At Mex Rent A Car, we offer the flexibility to pick up your car in one location and return it in another. However, please note that a drop-off charge may apply. For more information about one-way rentals, please ask our agents at the counter. It’s important to keep in mind that vehicles collected in Mexico cannot be returned in the United States, and vice versa.

Age Requirements

To rent a car with Mex Rent A Car, the minimum age is 21 years old. If the driver is between 21 and 24 years old, an additional fee of $5.00 USD per day plus taxes will be charged.

Fuel Policy

To avoid gas refill charges, it’s essential to return the rental car with the same amount of gasoline it had when you picked it up.

Geographic Restrictions

Please note that vehicles rented from Mex Rent A Car are not allowed to cross the border with the United States, Guatemala, and/or Belize. It’s important to adhere to these geographic restrictions to avoid any legal consequences.

Driver’s License

When picking up your rental car, all renters/drivers must present a valid driver’s license. It must have been in use for more than one year and be in the Roman alphabet.

No Smoking Policy

For the comfort and safety of all our customers, we have a strict no smoking policy. Please refrain from smoking inside the vehicle. In case of smoke detection, a cleaning charge will apply.

Payments

At Mex Rent A Car, we accept debit or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) for paying the rent.

Grace Period

Your reservation will have a grace period of 2 hours after the confirmed time of arrival. Within this time frame, we will guarantee the availability of the reserved unit. If you are delayed, we cannot guarantee the availability of the reserved unit, but we will make every effort to offer you an alternative solution.

Pre-Payments

Mex Rent A Car reserves the right to deny the delivery of the car if we believe that the driver is unable to drive or does not meet the established requirements, even if the reservation has been prepaid. Insurance Options

When renting a car from Mex Rent A Car, third-party liability coverage is automatically included in all rates displayed on our website. This coverage protects against damages caused to third parties/properties, up to $750,000.00 MXN. It also limits the driver’s liability for the rental car to a 10% deductible on the commercial value of the unit in the event of total loss or total theft. Please note that partial theft, vandalism, or damage to parts or accessories are not covered by this insurance.

Additionally, you have the option to select additional protection coverages upon arrival. These coverages are optional and include Total Coverage (CT). Total Coverage limits the driver’s liability for the rental car to a deductible of 0% on the commercial value of the unit in case of total loss or total theft. Similar to the previous insurance option, partial theft, vandalism, or damage to parts or accessories are not covered. The cost of Total Coverage is $15.00 USD per day plus taxes.

Rules and Requirements

To pick up your rental car, you will need to present the following documents:

• Official identification (INE or Passport)
• Current driver’s license
• Credit card

Please note that the same credit card or the same cardholder cannot be used to rent two or more vehicles within the same period of time. If you need to extend your rental or have any other concerns, please notify our reservation center at +52 (33) 4624 2114 or contact the location directly. It’s important to use different names for each reservation if you need to rent multiple vehicles for the same date period to avoid automatic cancellation of duplicate reservations.

Internet Reservations

In the case of rates affected by technical problems on our website or other means, we will not honor the incorrect rate or one affected by manipulation. If you come across any technical issues or discrepancies with the rates displayed, please reach out to us for clarification.

Exchange Rate

Due to the fluctuation of exchange rates, please keep in mind that the amount charged to your credit card may differ from the price quoted on our website. The difference, if any, will depend on the exchange rate at the time of the reservation and when the charge is reflected in your credit card statement. Similarly, if a refund is necessary, we will refund the exact initial amount charged, and we will not be responsible for any fluctuations that may result in a higher or lower refund than expected.
