It’s a hands-on job that requires excellent computer skills and a friendly demeanor.
Dental Assisting
For those who enjoy working chairside with dentists and assisting in various dental procedures, our Dental Assisting program is an excellent choice. You’ll work closely with dentists, performing tasks like restorations, fillings, crown and bridge work, endodontics, and oral surgery. Additionally, you’ll gain skills in preventive dentistry, allowing you to become a level one and level two dental assistant.
Dental Hygiene
If you aspire to become a self-regulated health professional who directly works with clients, our Dental Hygiene program is the ideal path for you. As a dental hygienist, you’ll have your own clients, perform cleanings, take X-rays, and assist in dental procedures. This program also includes radiography training.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
At Apple Tree Dental Mounds View, we take pride in our state-of-the-art facilities that provide students with hands-on training opportunities. Our clinic features 24 dental units, divided into three pods, each equipped with eight units. We also have three radiography rooms, including one with a Panorex machine for panoramic X-rays.
Our clinic is designed for effective teaching and learning. Demonstrations by faculty members take place on specialized units equipped with cameras and televisions. Students can observe these demonstrations on the televisions in each pod, as well as on their individual computer monitors.
Practical Training Areas
To ensure students receive comprehensive training, our clinic includes dedicated areas for instrument reprocessing and sterilization. We have two reprocessing areas where instruments are cleaned and prepared for sterilization. A strict separation is maintained between dirty and clean areas using plexi walls.
Our Sterilization Room is where instruments are sterilized and returned to their designated locations. Additionally, we have a dispensary where students can access all necessary instruments and supplies for their daily tasks.
Radiography and Dental Materials Labs
At Apple Tree Dental Mounds View, we have a dedicated Radiography Lab where students learn the intricacies of taking X-rays. The lab is equipped with Dexter units that simulate real dental X-ray procedures. Students process their X-rays using ScanX machines connected to computers.
Our Dental Materials Lab is where students learn to work with various dental materials. Here, they fabricate custom trays, diagnostic models, sports guards, and whitening trays. The lab is equipped with all the necessary tools and machinery for these tasks.
